Internship Opportunities

Open to undergraduate, graduate students and early career theatre professionals (no degree or college experience required), our program offers a deep understanding of the hard work and skills required to be successful in the world of theater.

Much love to our 2020 intern Maren Taylor, who did amazing work with us, courtesy of our partnership with Chicago Semester!  Check out this video.

Interns at Rivendell Theatre:

  • Work 15 to 20 hours per week for approximately 12 weeks

  • Are given training and leadership, as well as specific duties and projects in one department under the guidance of department managers

  • Have various opportunities to interface with staff and visiting artistic professionals

  • Attend all staff meetings and participate in the planning and presentation of
main stage shows, donor events, readings and developmental workshops

Although Rivendell internships are unpaid, our interns may receive college credit
(as arranged by the student with their university), tickets to all Rivendell productions, and opportunities to use industry discounts to other theaters in the Chicago community.
