New Theatre Space!
It's the biggest news since our inception in 1994 -- after 16 years as an itinerant company, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble finally has a permanent home! All Rivendell productions are now at 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago's vibrant Edgewater neighborhood.
A Custom Fit
Renovations of the 1,600 square foot double-storefront were completed in February 2012, and include a 50-seat flexible black box theatre, lobby, dressing rooms, administrative office, and rehearsal space.
Thank you, Driehaus!
None of this would be possible without the crucial help we recieved from the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation and John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation special PAV grant program. They provided the essential funds to kick-start the renovations and helped transform a dilapidated storefront into a beautiful, intimate theater venue.
Come Celebrate with Us
Please join us June 13, 2012 as we celebrate the realization of our long-time dream of a permanent artistic home at our 2012 Salon and Benefit: Rooted on Ridge.
See the Raw Space
The new space was gutted down to the studs. Watch the video below to see Rivendell ensemble members cavort in the bare bones of their new home. Stay tuned for updates as the renovations progress.
