The Fairy Queen

Presented by Millenium Park and Rivendell Theatre Ensemble as part of Millennium Park's "In the Works" series

By Myra Paci

Directed by Megan Carney and Meighan Gerachis

November 11 – 13, 2010

Set in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the neighboring homes of two mothers and daughters, "The Fairy Queen" begins on September 10, 2001, and continues over the course of six days, asking questions about the horrors one experiences from the outside world and the fears and threats that plague us from within. It’s about love, sex, fantasy, terror, and thinking about killing your mother. And it’s also a comedy — most of the time.

"The Fairy Queen" features a cast of stellar Chicago actors plus Ruth Maleczech, a founding artistic director of Mabou Mines and one of the most celebrated artists out of New York’s experimental theatre scene. Myra Paci wrote the role of Florence for Ms. Maleczech.
