Combining her previous careers in acting and songwriting, Victoria Deiorio is a critically acclaimed sound designer and composer for theatre, based in Chicago. With a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University, and studying classical acting in London at RADA and LAMDA, she transitioned from the performance artistry to the technical.

Regionally she has worked with Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Goodman, Steppenwolf Theatre, Victory Gardens, Northlight Theatre, LA Theatre Works, CenterStage Baltimore, Indiana Repertory, Syracuse Stage, Cleveland Playhouse, Chautauqua Theatre Company, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Florida Stage, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, First Stage Milwaukee, Milwaukee Shakespeare, Renaissance TheatreWorks, Peninsula Players, Milwaukee Rep, Birmingham Childrens’ Theatre, People’s Light and Theatre, and Geva Theatre.
In Chicago she has designed productions with Writers’ Theatre, The Next Theatre, Remy Bumppo, Lifeline, Light Opera Works, and many other storefront theatres. She is a member of Lifeline Theatre.
She directed Skin Tight with COR theatre; Mami, Where’d My O Go with COR theatre; Sunday on the Rocks with Second Sex at Bailiwick Theatre; 365 Days, 365 Plays – Week 19 and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs! at Lifeline Theatre.
She composed Dirty Cowboy (with follow RTE ensemble member Jane Baxter Miller) and Flight of the Dodo – 2 children’s musicals for Lifeline Theatre.
She is the first woman to have been nominated for 11 Joseph Jefferson Awards – winning 6 – and she has received 2 After Dark Awards. Victoria is the head of Sound Design at DePaul University. And she’s produced 2 CD’s of original music with her band ToyBand.
